You have questions. We have answers.

Do you groom cats?

Kitties have delicate skin, and require the specialized services of a cat groomer that is trained and qualified to provide the proper level of care. At this time, we do not have anyone on staff who is specialized in feline grooming, and unfortunately cannot provide these services. However, please feel free to give us a call, and we’ll be happy to provide recommendations on some of our favorite cat groomers in the area.

Which is better for your pet, grain-free or grain-in foods?

I am sure that by now you have heard the big news about DCM, a heart condition in dogs that has a potential link to grain-free diets. Unfortunately, to date, there is no concrete answer on whether these two factors are linked. The Pet Food Institute states that the best thing you can do for your pet is to “make sure your dog is receiving a complete and balanced diet that is formulated for his or her life stage.” Just as with any study that is inconclusive regarding potential health warnings, it is important to stay up to date on future findings, but also to remember to keep the big picture in sight. When asked if any specific ingredients or grain-free foods as a whole should be avoided, the FDA stated that they do not advise any dietary changes based on the information gathered to date.

If there is a silver lining to this potentially disturbing news, it is that top brands have committed to carrying out additional research on the way nutrients and ingredients in dog food affect the long-term health of our pets. Now, top pet food manufacturers are further progressing the variety of nutrients in their food products, allowing for a more balanced diet for the pets we love. These brands are shifting the focus to include superior grains that offer more nutritional value than the corn-based grains traditionally used as filler ingredients.

Our store is fully stocked with premium food brands, both grain-free and grain-in, and our staff has an exceptional knowledge of the different options to help you find the best fit for your pet. We also have a no-questions-asked refund policy for returns and exchanges if you decide the food you purchased wasn’t the right fit. We are always happy to help you on your journey to finding the perfect food for your pup’s health, longevity, and overall quality of life.

When should I switch from puppy to adult food?

There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as it is entirely dependent on the size, breed, and nutritional needs of the dog. Larger breeds take longer to fully develop, and can benefit from the extra vitamins and nutrients in puppy food for a longer period of time than smaller dogs. Small dogs reach full maturity quicker than large dogs, which means they typically need less time on puppy food. We are happy to discuss the specific and unique attributes of your pet to determine the optimal time to switch to adult food. Furthermore, we’ll go over brand-specific benefits with you to help determine the right food for the essential health and wellness of your particular breed.
